8/24/2023 0 Comments Mega blocks and legosWithout a license to back them up, I don't see these doing much. With all those factors considered, building sets can sometimes be on the pricey side. The bricks are awful and vicious on the hands. I love the minifigures, but production issues (like inconsistent clutching and parts being off by microns) make them not as good as I would like. KREO - Hasbro's hilarious attempt at trying to be LEGO. They hold together well, the minifigures are great (especially the daleks). The don't hold together, they don't build, they don't do much of anything.Ĭharacter Building Limited - They've got the Doctor Who license, all of it is imported in the states but these are the best non-LEGO bricks I know of - and about twice the price. The KISS/Beatles stuff is weird.īest Lock - These are hilariously bad. Though the springloaded gokart engines are a nice touch. But I basically see them as just minifigures, not building toys. K'NEX - The Mario stuff is neat, and the combination of LEGO and K'NEX is something I find really cool. I will say, some of their stuff from World of Warcraft is very cool looking, like ice bricks. Less breaking, better clutching but still not LEGO. Now, thanks to licenses and some interesting pieces, they've gotten a lot better. Mega Bloks - They are still fighting the stigma of the 90s when they were a blatant LEGO-knock-off. LEGO - The original, the best and there is a reason they are so expensive. I've got them all at various points, either because of licenses or as gifts.
